British. Scooters. Mod. Words that come to mind when viewing the A/W 15 iconic collection from Pretty Green, clothing label of Oasis‘ former frontman Liam Gallagher.
Mod is a subculture that began in 1960s Britain and spread, in varying degrees, to other countries and continues today on a smaller scale. But with the collection from Pretty Green, it could go a long way to bringing the culture back (if it ever left). A culture based on music and fashion. A perfect match then.
Pretty Green‘s collection consists of Parkas, Harringtons and biker jackets, in khaki, blacks and navy, all sticking to that Mod culture vibe. Yet, still making it relevant in today’s fashion. You’ll either like it or you won’t. But who cares? We love it. Brands that do their own thing, that don’t necessarily follow trends but are still fashionable and individual.
From its launch in 2009, the brand has been growing ever since, going from strength to strength, with a classic look. Classic parkas, classic trench coats and classic shoes. Nothing too crazy, plain colours and nothing wild. Great. A relief. No wonder they have stores in London, Manchester, Glasgow and Japan to name a few. And then, there’s their collaboration with Paul Weller. Quality.
We’re not here to tell you what you should buy. But we can point you in the right direction. Being able to blog is good. Being able to dress is great too. Being able to do both is pretty great. Thanks to Pretty Green.
